Summer in the city!

Hey kids,

Wow, can't believe that NxNE has come and gone again! Thanks to Dan Burke, NeXT @ NxNE and the great crowd at The Silver Dollar, our festival was a blast.

The fantastic Chart Attack Magazine highlighted Elvyn on their controversial NxNE Report Card series this year, and we're proud to say we got the best review of the night! You can peep the whole thing by clicking here;

 

Recording is coming on nicely, and we're getting the artwork for the two part, 7" & LP combo all lined up with the great Rocket 57 Illustration from Ottawa. We're really jazzed on the music, and the collaboration with this awesome company should make these releases something super special!

Next on the live schedule, we'll be in Peterborough for the Hunter Street Hootenanny Festival, August 13th with Hollerado, Cuff The Duke, The Spades, The Wooden Sky and more!  We'll have more details and line-up times for ya'll really soon, but it could be one of the highlights of your summer!

Then we'll be back in Toronto to follow up on the NxNE destruction with a really special show at The Horseshoe on August 20th... You'll have to stay tuned for the line-up, but here's a hint... That's ignoramus Ezra Levant doesn't like them one bit.

Elvyn @ The Silver Dollar - Review

Here's a review of our Silver Dollar show in T.O. from the "It's not the band I hate, it's their fans" music blog;

"Brothers Joel and Ryan Beerman have been playing music together as Elvyn for just over 11 years now, and their professionalism and abilities have only increased during that time. Elvyn's mix of pure pop and alt-country is as catchy and accessible as it gets, filled with soaring harmonies and heartbreaking lyricism. If you've ever listened to either their 2002 release Ten Car Stereo or their 2004 EP The Big Bay, then you're likely scratching your head also as to why they've never had so much as a hit song, let alone nationwide success. Of course, with the overwhelming onslaught of music these days, I suppose this is just a product of the musical climate that we live in, and a band such as Elvyn has to settle for making an impression by playing as many gigs as they can and letting the buzz flow that way."
